Hayward, Wisconsin and St. Louis River Fishing Report 11-16-13
I put my boat away at the end of October and left for Indiana on my annual big buck hunt. Dave Brown had other ideas though. The musky man kept at it and was rewarded with a couple of nice fish while I was gone. Dave Guided Scott Swanson from Madison to a good looking 46″ fish that was landed on a sucker. Later in the week, Dave tangled with a 47″ brute that smashed a crank bait. Water temps continue to drop with some of our small lakes having a skim of ice on them in the mornings. Dave reports that encounters with fish are far and few between, but his results are proof that you’ll be rewarded if you put your time in on the water. November musky fishing isn’t an easy proposition, but those who are willing to brave the elements often end up with big fish in the net. Congratulations to Scott, and nice job Dave. You’re the man! I suspect we haven’t heard the last from Dave…
As for my hunt, I returned empty handed. However, my friends from The Hunt Greg and Jake Miller got some incredible footage for their show that included Jake killing a great old buck that he had been hunting all week. You can read more about the hunt on my blog https://jeffevansfishing.com/jeffs-blog/. Congratulations Jake on a well earned trophy!
