Hayward, Wisconsin Fishing Report 6-20-13

joeandgreg3Former University of Wisconsin All American and current NFL All Pro Joe Thomas along with his father in law, Greg Nelson, joined me today for our annual trip.  The fish didn’t disappoint.  I look forward to this every year, and I couldn’t be happier for two great guys that had a banner day!  Totals included 15 walleyes up to 23″, 16 smallmouth up to 19″, 6 largemouth up to 21″, and 4 pike.  Our day was full of fish, full of laughs, and full of fun.  As Joe said at the end of the day, “This one will be hard to beat.”  I’m already looking forward to next year!  Water temps ranged from 66 to 68 degrees with south winds and cloudy skies throughout the day.  Several storms rolled through, but we were able to avoid most of them.  Walleyes were caught on slip bobbers and leeches in 12′ to 14′ of water.  Smallies were caught in 4′ to 6′ of water, and it looks like we will be transitioning from spawn to post spawn over the next few days.  Thanks to Greg and Joe for another outstanding day!

Congrats to you three for an amazing day of fishing! Joe is right! Will be tough to beat that day! I will say if it were to happen, Jeff is the man that will put you on the fish to beat it!
