Hayward, Wisconsin Fishing Report 6-19-13

scottandwyatt3I just spent an incredible day on the water with my new friends Scott and Wyatt Evans from Mineral Point, Wisconsin.  Even though we are not related, it was obvious that these guys are fisherman.  Must be in the name!  We landed 20 walleyes in the a.m. with the largest being a fat 23″ fish caught by Wyatt.  In the afternoon, we landed 25 smallmouth.  Again, Wyatt took the big fish honors with a dandy 21″.  I’m telling you, this kid is good.  His father has obviously taught him well, and he has all the makings of a top notch guide!  Our walleyes were caught on slip bobbers and leeches in 12′ to 15′ of water.  The smallies were caught in 2′ to 6′ of water.  Water temperatures ranged from 66 to 68 degrees with south winds, high skies, and warm air temps.  Congratulations to Scott and Wyatt on an awesome day!
