Chequamegon Bay Fishing Report 5-23-13
Mother Nature and bad timing continue to keep me off of the Bay. John Janousek from Rassatt Outdoor Group and I made an attempt on Monday, but thick fog and a strong northeast winds blowing into Second Landing made us decide better of it. The Ashland area has received several inches of rain in the past few days, and the water is extremely muddy. As I was driving into Ashland Monday afternoon, Fish Creek was over it’s banks and close to running over Hwy. 2. I would expect it will take several days of calm weather before things settle down. I did hear rumors that there was a strong pre-spawn bite occurring late last week, and the smallies should be on the feed when anglers are able to get after them. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I get some first hand information, hopefully sooner than later… Good luck out there everyone!
